Patrick Rowe, Ph.D

Florida Director of Operations

Patrick graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor of science in Biology and then completed his Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine and Translational Science at the Wake Forest School of Medicine.  His dissertation research focused on cardiovascular complications caused by diabetes.  Patrick then completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Florida studying type 1 diabetes at the UF Diabetes Institute. While Patrick loves research, after his postdoctoral fellowship, he realized he is passionate about communicating knowledge of disease processes to help others make health and lifestyle decisions.  With this in mind, he completed his Master of Public Health, with a concentration in Epidemiology at the University of Florida and is a certified Health Coach.

Patrick has lived with diabetes himself for over thirty years and is very familiar with the use of continuous glucose monitoring technology.  In Patrick’s daily life, his CGM informs many in-the-moment decisions about food choices, exercise, and insulin dosing.  The use of his CGM has allowed him to better control his blood sugars and improve his overall health.  Patrick is also very passionate about nutrition and lives by the idea that low-carbohydrate food should be tasty and satisfying.

When Patrick isn’t helping clients meet their metabolic health goals, you can find him exploring the outdoors through hiking, trail running, mountain biking, and road biking.  Patrick also enjoys low-carb cooking and baking and spending time with his wife, two kids, and dog.
